The Seattle Seahawks executed a big fake punt to keep their hopes alive against the Carolina Panthers.
The Seattle Seahawks spotted the Carolina Panthers 31 points in the first half and put themselves in a big hole early in the NFC Divisional round.
With the Seahawks needing to be perfect in the second half, they came out firing on all three phases of the game. They didn’t let Carolina get any points in the third quarter. They put up two big touchdowns on offense, courtesy of big throws by Russell Wilson. They also pulled off a great fake punt.
After the Panthers stopped the Seahawks on third down, the Seahawks got bold and called for a huge fake. DeShawn Shead took a direct snap and ran for the first down, as the Panthers got caught off guard.

The Seahawks have never been a team to shine away from a bold play like a fake punt. Being down 17 in the second half on the road almost constituted having to do something like a fake punt.
It worked and they were able to work their way down the field, before they actually had to punt the football again. The Seahawks are in panic mode and doing whatever it takes to get back in the game.
