DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 18
A huge day of NBA basketball is on tap this Monday, and you can get your DFS fantasy basketball roster set with the help of these DraftKings daily picks.
The NBA has an appropriate celebration lined up for today’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I agree with this NBA.com preview that bills today as the second national basketball holiday, and hope you get a chance to enjoy some or all of the ten games on the schedule with four on national TV. In this version of my DraftKings Daily Picks, I’ll focus on the four games tonight, but you can find my afternoon lineup on the final slide of the post as well.

The headline game of the day tips off at 8:00 PM ET on TNT as the Warriors and Cavaliers meet in their second rematch of last year’s NBA Finals. The nighttime contest on DraftKings starts 30 minutes before that game with a 7:30 tip-off between the Nets and Raptors in Toronto as the Raps play their first game back in North American after a quick trip to the UK. In the other two games of the night, the Celtics are in Dallas to face the Mavericks at 8:30, and the last game of the night is a nice Western Conference matchup between the Rockets and the Clippers tipping off at 10:30 PM in the second game of TNT’s double-header.
With those eight teams in action this evening there are several different ways you can go go build your lineup and plenty of star power to consider. I’ve collected my top options on the following slides in my DraftKings daily picks. At each position, you’ll find a slide for high-salary options and a slide for high-value options. Each slide contains at least two options with a few extras thrown in where possible. I base each pick on the current form of each player and the positional matchups each player will face in tonight’s game.
This month, I also have started to rank my picks using stars after each selection. For a full explanation of the rating system, check out the last slide of this post, but the gist of it is more stars=more confidence. On the final slide of the post, you can see my recent results at each level of confidence. Also on the final slide of the post, you can see how I’m putting together the best of my picks into my lineups for tonight’s contests as well as my “bonus” lineup for this afternoon’s games.
In this post, all salary references and references to “fantasy points” refer to DraftKings pricing and scoring. If you are looking for similar coverage specifically for FanDuel, check the box above for related posts or find the latest on our fantasy basketball hub.
