The best sleepers at each position for FanDuel daily fantasy basketball on Monday, Jan. 18
The NBA kicks into high gear on Monday, Jan. 18 as it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day, one of the league’s biggest and most high-profile days of the season annually. Subsequently, the action around the league will last all day with 10 games on the schedule and 20 teams in action, in stark contrast to the five games on the schedule on Sunday. However, the heavy slate is good news for daily fantasy basketball players trying to find the right sleepers to insert into their FanDuel lineups.
Even with only five games on the schedule, the sleepers came out to play yesterday. With Goran Dragic out and Beno Udrih being scratched as well, Miami Heat guard Tyler Johnson had a nice outing at only $4,400. Moreover, Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers also benefitted in a big way as the rookie put up 41.4 fantasy points in FanDuel scoring while only carrying a $3,500 price tag. Also having a big night was Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic at $4,700 who put up 31.9 fantasy points.
However, the larger number of teams in action on MLK Day means that the value of finding the right sleepers is at an all-time high. There are going to be obvious sleepers around the league by mere chance, but the key for DFS players is identifying the best of the bunch to give their lineups an edge that other players may not have identified and had in their lineups.
The action kicks off at 1 p.m. ET with the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers facing off and lasts until the Los Angeles Clippers take on the Houston Rockets with a 10:30 p.m. ET start. There are eight games in between, highlighted by another 2015 NBA Finals rematch between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, tipping off at 8 p.m. ET.
As always, be sure to stay in touch with FanSided’s fantasy basketball hub where daily fantasy basketball players can find advice for both FanDuel and DraftKings on a daily basis to help construct the best possible lineup. Season-long fantasy basketball advice is also available in terms of wavier pickups and more.
Now that we have that out of the way, let’s take a gander at the sleeper picks. These are the best sleepers at each position on FanDuel daily fantasy basketball for MLK Day on Monday, Jan. 18.
