The Vancouver Canucks have announced that center Henrik Sedin will be out with an upper-body injury until after the All Star break

The Vancouver Canucks are fighting for a playoff spot in the Pacific Division. The Pacific Division will most likely only have three playoff teams as the Central Division currently has both of the wild card teams. The Canucks road to the playoff just got tougher as the team has announced that Henrik Sedin will be out until after the All Star break due to an upper body injury that he sustained against the New York Islanders.

Sedin was injured after being hit illegally by Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski. Grabovski was assessed a major penalty for boarding and received a game misconduct, but it seems unlikely that he will face any supplemental discipline from the league. Henrik Sedin is a huge loss for the Canucks. Not only is he their second best forward, his brother Daniel (arguably their best forward) relies heavily on Henrik. Daniel and Henrik have incredible chemistry together and have combined for 78 points this season.

Henrik has nine goals and 28 assists this season. He is second to his brother in points with 37. The next closest player is Jannik Hansen with 22 points. Bo Horvat could be seeing time as the first line center without Henrik.
