Despite being down 40, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James was still giving his all as he made a huge block.
The Golden State Warriors went into Cleveland and absolutely embarrassed the Cavaliers on Martin Luther King Day. After a tough Christmas Day game between the two teams, this NBA Finals rematch was an absolute one-sided affair on Monday.
It got so bad that the Warriors were up by 30 at halftime and the Cavaliers had no answer for a red hot Warriors offense led by Stephen Curry. Curry didn’t let up and had the Warriors up by 40 at the end of the third quarter. While the Cavaliers were getting destroyed by the Warriors, LeBron James led by example on the floor and still kept playing hard in an effort to inspire his team.
After Leandro Barbosa got out on a fast break, James chased him down the court and went up and made a monster swat that sent the basketball off the glass.
When a team is down 40, it’s easy for them to hang their heads and pull their best players. James clearly wanted no business of calling it a night early and wanted to show the rest of his team how they need to play if they’re going to have a chance to get over that hump in the future.
Unfortunately for James, the lead only grew bigger for the Warriors.
