Welcome, everybody, to the Chip Kelly Era. G-funks step to this, I dare ya.

In a world prior to Kelly (BC, before-Chip?) the Niners would have definitely been going after a quarterback. The splinter between Colin Kaepernick and team seemed irreparable, what with subtweets from Kaep and the quarterback’s pay heading into the new season.

Again, that was BC. Now that the crazy genius is in place, all bets are off. Kelly has gone on record saying that he loves Kaepernick, he tried to trade for him while in his former gig. This means that the two will hitch their wagons together and ride or die like Thelma and Louise.

In order to get his quarterback some help, Kelly selects the best wide receiver in the draft, Laquon Treadwell. Treadwell is a burner of the highest order, and can be considered a bit of a steal in this position. He gives the Niners their first real weapon since Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis were both in their relative primes. Should Kaepernick fail to impress in the coming year, it won’t be due to his lack of a playmaking receiver. These two should hook up early and often.
. WR. Ole Miss. Laquon Treadwell. 7. player. 42
