Pau Gasol takes flight, Marcus Morris rides Jimmy Butler (Video)
An incredibly strange play happened between the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons during a Pau Gasol dunk.
Every so often in sports there is a play that can’t be described without simply labeling it as madness.
During the Chicago Bulls’ game against the Detroit Pistons, there was a strange play on the court that devolved into madness. Pau Gasol had a running start toward the hoop and took off for a big one-handed dunk.
While Gasol was taking off for the hoop, he got a little help from teammate Jimmy Butler, who blocked out and screened Marcus Morris from closing off the lane. The madness –besides Gasol hanging in the air for a while– was the fact that Morris somehow ended up on top of Butler’s screen riding him like a horse.
These types of plays happen every now and then and trying to describe what is happening just wouldn’t do something like this play justice. The things that we do know from this play are that Gasol still has hops and Morris thought Butler was a horse.
How it got to the point is something that probably should be left unsolved. Otherwise, people’s heads are going to spin trying to describe what they just saw happen on the floor.
