Miami Heat rookie Josh Richardson soared over even Giannis Antetokounmpo for the jam

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most unique players in the NBA, largely because of the length that he brings to the table at his position. Subsequently, he’s one of the best shot blocking forwards in the entire league. Miami Heat rookie Josh Richardson was either unaware of this fact or he just didn’t care—and it actually paid off for the youngster.

The 22-year-old second-round pick in Richardson got the ball on the perimeter at the top of the key and drove with a head full of steam toward the rim. He took off and just kept rising to the point that even Giannis realized he didn’t have a chance at getting up to block the dunk before Richardson slammed home the tomahawk jam:

It’s kind of crazy that Richardson has rarely seen the floor at all this season and is only seeing time in this game due to injuries to Goran Dragic and Beno Udrih while Tyler Johnson is also in foul trouble against Milwaukee and yet he’s still able to do things like this against the length and defense of the Bucks.

Though the Heat will obviously want to see a more complete game from Richardson, I think it’s safe to say they can rest assured that the youngster is an astounding athlete. If they need confirmation, they can always as The Greek Freak.
