Markieff Morris didn’t jump quite high enough trying to dunk against the Pacers

The Phoenix Suns and forward Markieff Morris have been at the end of a rock relationship over the last few weeks as he is one of the most likely candidates to be dealt before the NBA Trade Deadline. Over the past few games, the Suns have been playing Morris heavy minutes to showcase him and hopefully boost his trade value. However, the rim made him look pretty bad on Tuesday night against the Indiana Pacers.

In the matchup on Tuesday, Morris attacked the rim off the dribble. He looked like he was going to throw down a big dunk on the Pacers frontcourt, but he must’ve mistimed his jump or just not had the legs to get high enough because he got denied in a big, embarrassing way by the rim:

While that won’t actually affect Morris’ trade value in any way, that’s definitely not a good look for any NBA player. Moreover, I’m sure his Suns teammates let him hear about it when he got back over to the bench (keeping the team strong in Phoenix…).

In reality, though, Morris getting stuffed by the rim is really just a microcosm of the Suns this season. Through injuries and a severe lack of chemistry on the team, they have fallen well short of expectations this season, much like Morris falling short on his dunk attempt.
