Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors
The Boston Celtics have been improving every year under one of the NBA’s youngest head coaches, Brad Stevens. Right now, the Celtics are already on pace to surpass last year’s win total of 40 games and earn themselves a spot in the playoffs. Winners of three of four games, the Celtics have a chance to gain some ground on the Raptors in the Atlantic Division with a win Wednesday.

Isaiah Thomas was a great add for this team a year ago as the pint-sized point guard is averaging a team-high 21.8 points and 6.6 assists per game while proving to be a serious threat from long-range. Jae Crowder was also a nice addition in the middle of last season as he’s averaging a career-high 14.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
The Toronto Raptors were one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference last season, going 49-33, but retaining point guard Kyle Lowry was a must in the offseason if they were to continue as contenders. Toronto did just that and he’s been paying huge dividends for the 26-15 Raptors who are in second place in the conference.
Lowry is averaging 21.0 points and 6.4 assists per game while his fellow backcourt mate DeMar DeRozan is also All-Star worthy, averaging a team-high 22.8 points. The addition of DeMarre Carroll in the offseason looked to be huge, but he’s missed 15 of the past 20 games and there’s no timetable for his return.
