Atlanta Hawks vs Portland Trail Blazers
Following two consecutive wins, the Atlanta Hawks are slowly climbing up the Eastern Conference standings. Sitting in fourth place and just 4.5 games out of first, Atlanta’s solid offensive attack, which averages about 102 points per game, has been the difference. Mike Budenholzer is trying to make another run like he helped the Hawks do last year.

With Paul Millsap playing such solid basketball right now, Atlanta is in good hands. The power forward is averaging 18.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game — both team-highs. Al Horford has also been a force in the paint, averaging 15.4 points and 7.0 rebounds, but the rest of the Hawks struggle to hit the boards, ranking 29th in the league.
Losing a handful of major pieces from last year’s Portland Trail Blazers squad has definitely hurt this team, but as long as Damian Lillard is with the organization, it’ll be in good hands. Portland is just 19-25 and in ninth place in the West, but the Trail Blazers are learning to play well together, winning four of five games.
Lillard will probably win an MVP during his career in the NBA, in my opinion, and if he had a solid team around him, he might have contended this year. The point guard is averaging 24.4 points, 7.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds. C.J. McCollum has also played well, averaging 20.5 points and 4.4 assists, but there’s a big drop-off in production after that.
