New England Patriots linebacker Darius Fleming had an eventful day on January 14th as he saved a woman from a car crash.
The New England Patriots beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday to advance to the AFC Championship Game. For Patriots linebacker Darius Fleming, that wasn’t even his most eventful day of the week.
On Thursday, January 14, Fleming came across a car accident. He played the role of the hero by assisting one of the drivers involved, kicking in her window to help her escape.
From Sports Illustrated:
"New England Patriots linebacker Darius Fleming reportedly played with 22 stitches in his right leg during the team’s game against the Chiefs. Fleming said he sustained the injury to his leg while kicking out the window of a burning car in order to save a woman following a crash."

Fleming deserves to be commended for doing the right thing. He put his career as a football player aside and helped someone who needed it. While he still played despite having 22 stitches, he likely wouldn’t have been looked at too favorably by the Patriots had he not been able to play.
The linebacker has been on New England’s active roster since November. He had two tackles in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs. Fleming was drafted in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers, and hewas on New England’s practice squad before being called up.
It’s hard to find athletes these days who you can look up to. It appears that Fleming might be one of the few who is worth looking up to.
