According to a report out of Spain, Chelsea are considering sending Pedro back to Barcelona.

After 11 years at Barcelona, Pedro decided in the summer that it was time to move on and win trophies abroad. Chelsea welcomed the Spanish international with open arms, as they thought he would only help strengthen their push for consecutive Premier League titles.

However, it has been a disappointing first half of the season for both the player and the club. Pedro hasn’t exactly been able to light things up at Stamford Bridge, and as a result, he could be returning back home much sooner than anyone had anticipated.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Chelsea have already begun talks with Barcelona to send the 28-year-old back to the club on a temporary basis. The aforementioned report suggests that the Blues are looking for a loan option for the player and that Barcelona may be willing to take him back under certain conditions.

Pedro just arrived to London in August, after a whopping £19 million ($26.9 million) deal. At the time though, Jose Mourinho was still running the bench. Guus Hiddink has since taken over as a caretaker manager, and the club may be waiting to see who will be at the helm on a permanent basis before making a decision on the future of the winger.

Pedro has made a total of 24 appearances for Chelsea this season in all competitions, scoring a total of three goals. Finding the back of the net has been a real problem for the Blues this season though, with rumors emerging from both sides of the pond that the club is looking to sign a striker during the current transfer window.
