In what is a rare occasion, Russell Westbrook completely whiffed on the dunk attempt.
Wait, this can’t be right. This didn’t happen to Russell Westbrook, did it?
Wednesday night the Oklahoma City Thunder are taking on the Charlotte Hornets, and now we’re at the point where we’re just looking for Russell Westbrook dunks. You know, the type of dunks where he tries to literally tear the rim off the backboard. He put down two of them on Tuesday night against the Denver Nuggets, so you figured that there would be more in store on Wednesday.
Well, he tried, but something completely unbelievable happened.
Westbrook was indeed going for one of those insane throw downs, but as he was trying to get it all in order, he lost the handle on the ball and completely whiffed on the attempt.
You almost have to watch it a few times to make sure that what you’re seeing is actually real, but in the end it is. That is Russ going up for the hammer and, well, it just got away from him.
Now of course, he’s only human, so he’s entitled to make a mistake every now and again. But if we’re all going to fawn over his amazing highlights, then we have to draw attention to these as well.
