According to French outlet, L’Equipe, Pep Guardiola met with Manchester United in Paris last week.
Manchester United have had a difficult season to say the least. They currently sit in fifth spot in the Premier League, with 37 points from 22 matches and also have already been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.
As a result of their poor performances on the pitch, there has been a plethora of talk about the future of the club and whether current head coach, Louis van Gaal, is the right man leading the team going forward.
With Pep Guardiola already confirming his departure from Bayern Munich following the season, teams from across England have been lining up to try and sign the Spanish tactician. There has been a ton of speculation that Guardiola has decided to join Manchester City, but their cross-town rivals, Manchester United, refuse to give up on the former Barcelona boss.
According to a report from French outlet, L’Euipe, the 45-year-old met with representatives from the Red Devils last week at a hotel in Paris. United are said to be fond of Guardiola and bringing him to Old Trafford is one of their top priorities.
The Spaniard has led Bayern Munich to consecutive Bundesliga titles, and has his team top of the table once again this year. He has yet to win the UEFA Champions League with the Bavarian giants though, and will be in tough when his side takes on Juventus in the Round of 16.
Manchester United on the other hand, will be back in action next weekend, when they host Southampton on Saturday morning.
