The Cavaliers are trying their hardest to convince everyone that LeBron James had no say in the firing of David Blatt.
The big story on the day in the NBA is the firing of head coach David Blatt by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ever since Blatt’s arrival in Cleveland, it seemed like things were rocky despite the fact that Blatt coached the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals in his first season with the team.
Another report out of Cleveland on Friday, stated that LeBron James was not consulted about the decision to fire Blatt. Many experts and former players found this immediately laughable and fully believed that James had a major say in the decision to fire Blatt.
At the press conference with Cavaliers general manager David Griffin, Griffin did his best to try and get the point across that James had no say in Blatt being fired by the team.
He even went as far to make an adamant point that James does not run the Cavaliers. While he is right there, it’s hard to believe that James was not consulted on the decision. He’s the biggest name in the NBA and he absolutely has his hand in everything that the Cavaliers do.
It’s been clear from the beginning that he and Blatt were never on the same page, which makes it hard to believe that he didn’t have a say.
