The Cleveland Cavaliers have finally done what we expected them to do last year and have fired David Blatt as head coach.

It took longer than expected, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are once again onto another head coach. David Blatt was brought in before LeBron James decided to return to Cleveland, which immediately  put his job in jeaprody through really no fault of his own. That being said, there haven’t been the results that were needed for Blatt to keep his job — which is why he doesn’t have it anymore.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers have fired Blatt and have replaced him with assistant coach Ty Lue.

This isn’t that surprising, as Lue has been incredibly popular with the players in Cleveland for a while now, but it’s the timing of this firing that is interesting. You have to believe that the loss to Golden State on Monday, but why not fire him right after that game? Instead, the Cavaliers are on a two game winning streak and just beat the Los Angeles Clippers the other night. But the Cavaliers have been suffering through unrest for most of this season, and there have been problems offensively that need to be fixed.

Lue is the man for the future, and it’s up to him to make us believe that he’s the right man for the gig.
