Chicago Blackhawks fan CM Punk and other UFC stars practiced with the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday and Thursday

UFC fighter CM Punk is a devoted Chicago Blackhawks fan. The former WWE Champion and professional wrestler constantly supports them on Twitter. However, he took the ice with a different team on Wednesday and Thursday when he skated and worked out with the New Jersey Devils.

Punk worked out with the team in their weight room and later surprised a few of the players by taking the ice.

“When CM Punk skated onto the ice with no gloves, people were saying it was going to be an MMA match on the ice so I wanted no part of that,” Severson said, via NHL.com. “The only advantage I had was that he said he hadn’t been on skates in 20 years, so maybe he was a little rusty but I wouldn’t want to get in the ring with any of those guys.”

“I already threw the gloves off and there were no referees to penalize me so I was looking at someone to swing at,” Punk said. “But Damon is a super, great kid. An up-and-comer in this league.”

Punk is scheduled to make his UFC debut in either June or July after suffering an injury while training for his first match.
