The NBA starts the weekend with a solid nine games on the schedule for tonight.  Most of the matchups are games between familiar conference foes, but there are a few inter-conference matchups as well like the Clippers making their one trip of the season to Madison Square Garden.  ESPN has a couple of good games as well, so there is plenty of options to consider as you build your DFS fantasy basketball team for tonight.  I’ve selected my favorite plays of the day and listed them on the following slides in my FanDuel daily picks, so scroll through and see who I think can help you start the weekend with a fantasy basketball “W”.

More from Fantasy Basketball

The first game of the ESPN double-header starts at 8:00, but FanDuel rosters lock at 7:00 PM ET when the Magic and Hornets get things underway.  At 7:30, there are three games in the Northeast as the Celtics host the Bulls, the Nets welcome in the Jazz, and the Clippers hit the Garden. The first game with national TV coverage is the Raptors and Heat meeting for the third time this year after splitting their first two meetings.  It’s a return home for Chris Bosh who played the first seven years of his career North of the border. In other 8:00 action, the Rockets welcome in the Bucks.

In the later games hosted out West, the Mavericks take on the Thunder at 8:30, and the Lakers take on the Spurs on the second night of their back-t0-back.  ESPN concludes its double-header with the Warriors looking to improve to 20-0 at home as they take on the Pacers in what should be a high-scoring, entertaining game to watch.

With all those games on the schedule, there are lots of players to choose from for today’s action.  Don’t get overwhelmed, though, since my FanDuel daily picks on the following slides are a great place to start. Each position has two slides assigned to it–one for high-salary options and one for high-value options. Each slide contains at least two options with a few extras thrown in where possible.  I base each pick on the current form of each player and the positional matchups each player will face in tonight’s game.

This month, I also have started to rank my picks using stars after each selection. For a full explanation of the rating system, check out the last slide of this post, but the short version is “more stars=more confidence.” On the final slide of the post, you can see my recent results at each level of confidence.  Also on the final slide of the post, you can see how I’m putting together the best of my picks into my lineups for tonight’s contests.

In this post, all salary references and references to “fantasy points” refer to FanDuel pricing and scoring.  If you are looking for similar coverage specifically for DraftKings, check the box above for related posts or find the latest on our fantasy basketball hub.
