According to Seattle’s general manager, running back Marshawn Lynch is leaning towards retirement
The Seattle Seahawks and running back Marshawn Lynch are likely to part ways soon. Lynch’s cap hit and salary are simply too much to justify considering that they have a cheaper and likely better running back in Thomas Rawls. Good luck to anyone who tries to predict what Beast Mode is thinking at any given moment, but Seahawks GM John Schneider seems to think he’s leaning towards retirement.
John Schneider on ESPN Seattle on Marshawn Lynch: "I'm under the impression he is leaning towards retirement.''

Lynch has accumulated a ton of rushing yards over his career (9,112 to be exact). He has also dealt out a lot of punishment and taken perhaps even more. The biggest thing he had going for him going into this season was his durability and strength. Those two elements of his game have declined noticeably, as Lynch missed nine games this season and only started six games. His 3.8 yards per carry in 2015 were the lowest in his career since 2010. He set career lows in rushing attempts, rushing yards, and his three rushing touchdowns were the second-lowest of his career and lowest since his rookie season.
Marshawn Lynch could still be a productive second-string running back, and remains an attractive third down option. However, his body might have had enough at this point after over 2,500 career touches including the playoffs.
