Golden State Warriors. A+. player. 41. . 39-4. 1st West

Don’t let their recent shortcoming dissuade you from the fact that the Golden State Warriors have been the best team in the NBA through the first half of the 2015-16 season by the measures of most. Not only did they start the season at 24-0 in one of the most dominating runs that the league has ever seen, but the Warriors have looked even better than they were last season when they won 67 games in the regular season and ultimately took home the title.

While the Warriors have shown signs of fatigue recently and have actually lost two of their last three games at the midway point of the season, they are still flirting with history in terms of the success that they’ve enjoyed so far this season. All year long, the Warriors have been compared to the 1995-96 Bulls in terms of their pursuit of the best regular season record in the history of the league (72-10). At the halfway point of the year, they are on pace to surpass that mark.

After winning the title and keeping that core together, Golden State was obviously expected to have a ton of success this season, but not many predicted this historic level of success for this team. That they’ve somehow surpassed even their lofty expectations is remarkable and anything less than an A+ would be doing what the Warriors have accomplished this year a disservice.
