With Steve Kerr returning as the Warriors head coach, which coaching jobs should Luke Walton pursue?

The Golden State Warriors have had an extremely successful season so far despite not having head coach Steve Kerr. A huge reason for that has been Luke Walton, who has done a phenomenal job filling in for Kerr. Kerr returned to the Warriors bench on Friday night. That opens up the possibility of Walton leaving the Warriors to receive a very well-deserved promotion to head coach.

Walton has shown a lot of promise as a head coach. While he has had arguably the most talented team in the league to work with, he has them playing at a very high level and the team has rallied behind him. They lead the Western Conference with a 39-4 record. Much like Bruce Arians taking over for Chuck Pagano with the Indianapolis Colts, Luke Walton is in a unique position to allow his success as the interim head coach of a successful team carry him to a lucrative head coaching job.

There are plenty of teams that would love to have Walton coaching them. Walton will get to pick wherever he wants to go. Let’s look at the five most likely destinations for Mr. Walton.
