When the Cavaliers called a team meeting to announce David Blatt had been fired, some players thought Kevin Love was traded.

It was a big Friday afternoon, as the Cleveland Cavaliers announced that they fired their head coach David Blatt. The team was regressing from last season it seemed like, despite the fact they had the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers decided to name assistant coach Tyronn Lue as their coach of the future and it looked like the move had been planned for a while.

While the Cavaliers called a team meeting to announce the move to the players, it turns out that some of the players thought that the team meeting would be over something else. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, some Cavaliers players thought forward Kevin Love had been traded.

It’s certainly interesting to see that some players might have thought that Love had been traded. Ever since he was acquired, he’s seemed out of place in Cleveland. Although reports have been stating that he’s finally found his place with the Cavaliers, Love’s name continues to be one of the first listed when the Cavaliers struggle.

It also makes you wonder what exactly the Cavaliers really think of Love, if some of them thought the meeting was about him being traded. Does this further increase the notion that he may not be in Cleveland for long or is it a simple misunderstanding?

Whatever the case may be with Love’s status in Cleveland, it’s certainly an interesting development to keep an eye on.
