Entering Friday night’s contest in Orlando, both the Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets needed a win badly. So with just over five seconds left and leading by three, the Hornets surely felt pretty comfortable, especially as Victor Oladipo rose for a contested three-pointer to try to tie things up. And considering that Oladipo entered the game shooting just 34.5 percent from beyond the arc this season they had every right to feel that way. Then this happened.

That is just a horrendous break for the Hornets. Kemba Walker stayed step for step with Oladipo throughout the play and forced him into some crazy double clutch shot with a heavy contest and it didn’t matter at all. The feeling of dejection from Walker and the rest of the Hornets on the floor is so sad. It just feels like the team cannot believe that things continue to get worse.

As for Orlando, maybe this turns out to be the spark they needed to get things going on the right track again. At the very least the home crowd will go home with a pretty good memory from Friday.
