Bill Walton was having another one of his moments on Saturday night, this time talking about rubbing dirt on one’s body.

Arizona and Cal are taking on one another on the court Saturday night, which is a pretty nice Pac-12 showdown. However, you know what else is happening in this game? Bill Walton is commentating this one along with Dave Pasch, so of course that means it’s time for another one of Walton’s spiritual life lessons.

As has been the case with a lot of his other teachings, this one was just out there, man.

So as the game was rolling along, the subject of Temecula was brought up. You know, that city in California which also happens to be that place where one dude wanted to fight another dude because of a spat on Twitter about Kobe Bryant during Christmas of 2014? Yeah, that same place.

Anyway, Temecula was brought up and it was at this point where Walton asked Pasch if he had yet made a trip to the lovely California city? More importantly to all of this, he was curious as to whether or not Pasch had yet collected some dirt from the region and rubbed it on his body, basking in the glow of it all.

I honestly, even given what I do here on a daily basis, don’t ask for too much in the world of sports. However, I would be very pleased if Walton just never left the broadcast booth because the weirdness is just too entertaining at this point.
