High Salary C

Pau Gasol-Chicago Bulls (8,500): Although he may be a touch over-priced, Gasol is a solid PF to consider tonight coming off a double-double in Boston last night when he had 35.25 fantasy points on 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Gasol had at least 35 fantasy points in four of his previous five and in six of his last nine.  He and the Bulls will look to spoil Tyronn Lue’s coaching debut on the National TV game of the night against the Cavs. His price makes him higher risk, but I think he should be in a place to play big minutes and get plenty of double-doubles with Joakim Noah out for the rest of the year.

Greg Monroe-Milwaukee Bucks (7,000): Monroe had 21 points and nine rebounds against the Rockets last night finishing with 44.25 fantasy points in just 30 minutes.  He has at least 38 fantasy points in six of his last seven games and had his string of eight straight double-doubles snapped by falling just one rebound shy last night.  Tonight, he’s in a great matchup against the Pelicans who allow the second-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers, and as long as he gets his regular playing time I expect Monroe to be a good play again tonight.

Karl-Anthony Towns-Minnesota Timberwolves (7,000): Although he doesn’t benefit from the hype machine like Kristaps Porzingis, Towns probably has the inside track on rookie of the year given his outstanding play in Minnesota.  Towns is coming off a huge game on Wednesday when he had 27 points, 17 rebounds, and six blocks for a Boogie-like 67.25 fantasy points. He has at least 30 fantasy points in four of his last five games and has five double-doubles in his last nine.  Tonight, he’ll take on the Grizzlies who may not have excellent interior defender Marc Gasol who is questionable with a knee injury. If Gasol is out, I’d take Towns over Monroe, but with Gasol the Grizz are among the best in the league against opposing centers which would make me lean towards Monroe. With Gasol- No Gasol-∗∗
