Ranking every NBA head coach LeBron James has played for
With the firing of David Blatt, let’s rank the six coaches that LeBron James has had in his NBA career
During his storied NBA career that will surely end in the Hall of Fame, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James has had six head coaches. He has never had a great head coach but he has had some pretty solid ones. Then again, it’s not like you need to be a great head coach to win when you have a generational talent like LeBron.
He started off with Paul Silas during his first two seasons. Silas accumulated a record of 69-77 with LeBron and played an unheralded role in helping LeBron become the basketball player that he is today. Brendan Malone replaced Silas and went 18-8 with the team before the Cavs hired Mike Brown. Brown went 272-138 with LeBron as his star player.
In Miami, LeBron James played for Erik Spoelstra. Spoelstra and LeBron led the Heat to four NBA Finals appearances including consecutive titles. David Blatt was his fifth head coach and went 82-53 with LeBron. Tyronn Lue will be LeBron’s sixth head coach.
We don’t know what Lue is right now, so he starts off this list at number six. Who knows where he will end up? Right now, he’s an unknown. But it is worth noting that James and his agent both wanted Lue to be the head coach last offseason.
Next: 5. Brendan Malone
