LeBron James sent this attempted layup from Derrick Rose away from the basket.

Saturday night’s marquee basketball game is taking place at the Quicken Loans Arena between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls.

Coming into this one, the news of Cavs head coach David Blatt’s firing, which occurred on Friday, has overshadowed the game. Tyronn Lue is taking over as the team’s coach.

Many assume that star player LeBron James was part of the reason for Blatt’s firing, but he apparently had no say in this. Cavs GM David Griffin stated this in yesterday’s press conference (h/t ESPN).

Well, the Cavs and James are back to work on Saturday night. Early in the game against the Bulls, King James followed Derrick Rose and blocked his pass right off the backboard. It was a classic block from behind for arguably the NBA’s best player.

Greatness like this is part of the reason why the Cavs are in first place in the Eastern Conference. The credit had been geared towards LeBron, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and company this season and not Blatt, which may not be a coincidence.

Now we’ll see how much of a difference Lue makes as the head coach. Will the team be able to hold onto first place?
