Kevin Martin is an 11-year NBA veteran with an unorthodox, but lethal three-point shot that is probably on the trading block for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Shooting guard Kevin Martin is a veteran sharpshooter for the Minnesota Timberwolves. As Minnesota continues their rebuilding process around small forward Andrew Wiggins and power forward Karl-Anthony Towns, might the Timberwolves be willing to acquire another asset for Martin’s services before the 2016 NBA trade deadline?

The Timberwolves entered play Saturday night with an awful 13-31 record on the season. Minnesota sat tied with the Phoenix Suns for the fourth-worst record in the NBA. Only the Brooklyn Nets, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Philadelphia 76ers are worse than the 13-win Timberwolves.

While it is now obvious that Minnesota will miss the NBA Playoffs for 12th straight season, the longest active playoff drought in the Association, the Timberwolves are only a few pieces away from becoming relevant in the new era of the Western Conference, one where sub-.500 teams can make the Western Conference Playoffs.

Martin would provide a team looking to get better with a strong, albeit quirky outside shot and a veteran presence that could help a young team get over the top and into the NBA Playoffs. Here are five teams that could have interest in orchestrating a trade with the Timberwolves for Martin in the coming weeks.
