The New England Patriots aren’t headed to Super Bowl 50, which means Bill Belichick is going to be nice and salty.

When the New England Patriots advanced past the Kansas City Chiefs and headed to Denver for the AFC Championship game, everyone assumed that they would be rolling their way to Super Bowl 50. But  Tom Brady and company faltered when it mattered most — once again in Denver — and are now headed back home to watch the Super Bowl rather than out west to play in it.

Of course, this means that Bill Belichick will have something interesting to say — or not say — following the crushing loss. He had a lot to say about Peyton Manning before the game and seemed to give the Broncos quarterback a little extra time of appreciation in the postgame scrum. But Belichick is about as sore of a winner as they come, which means he’s probably going to be his salty self when talking about how his team is going home a game short of the Super Bowl.
