With the Royal Rumble set to take place on Sunday, will Daniel Bryan be one of the participants?

Sunday night the WWE Royal Rumble is set to take place, officially kicking off the best time of the year in professional wrestling, the Road to WrestleMania. Of course, time and time again when it comes to the 30-man match, we’ve seen some massive surprises that left us stunned and on the edge of our seats.

Could Daniel Bryan be one of those surprises on Sunday night?

Bryan has been out of action for close to a year now after suffering a severe concussion not long after WrestleMania 31 last year, where he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in the opener of the show. Since then, he has been to countless doctors and he has even been cleared to return to action. However, the roadblock through it all has been the refusal of WWE doctors to clear him for action, and they ultimately have the final say.

But, there was some news recently that gives everyone a glimmer of hope that one of the more popular stars of this generation will be making an appearance. This past week, conveniently, Bryan reportedly went to visit doctors at UCLA and they gave him yet another clean bill of health. Again, pretty convenient that he would make this doctor trip just a few days before the event that everyone would love to see him return at.

The last two years, Bryan was expected by many to be the winner of the big match, but that never came to fruition. In 2014, although never announced as an official entrant, people expected Bryan to crash the party and come away with the win. Well, there was a near riot when he never even came out. Then we thought this might all be rectified last year when Bryan was indeed an entrant, seeking to regain the title that he never lost. However, he was quickly eliminated from the match, much to the dismay of the fans once again.

So, it would only seem right that Bryan makes his much anticipated return on Sunday night in the Royal Rumble match when few might expect it, and if he was cleared by UCLA doctors, then you have to imagine that WWE docs might not have been too far behind.
