FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 24
High Salary PG
Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,500): Westbrook had just 38.1 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Friday, and will look to bounce back to his production of 50+ fantasy points which he had in his two previous games. Westbrook is in a great matchup to do just that this afternoon against the Nets that allow the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing PG, but there is definitely a risk of a blowout which is why I’m hesitant to invest heavily in him today. ∗∗
Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (10,000): The reason I’m a little hesitant on Paul isn’t the chance of a blowout, but instead I don’t love his matchup against the Raptors who allow the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing PG. Paul has been hot enough to overlook that matchup, though, as he’s carried LA in the absence of Blake Griffin. Paul has at least 42 fantasy points in eight of his last nine games and has four games of 50+ fantasy points during that span. When he faced Toronto earlier this season, he had a double-double of 13 points and 11 assists, and I expect this game to be a fun, close, and competitive one, so go ahead and give CP3 a look tonight and hope he can overcome his matchup with Kyle Lowry. ∗∗∗
Isaiah Thomas-Boston Celtics (8,400): Thomas has been a rock-solid and steady contributor almost the whole season for Boston. He has at least 19 points in each of his last eight games and adds enough rebounds and assists to be over 33 fantasy points in seven of those eight games. He hasn’t reached 40 fantasy points in any of his last six games, and his minutes are less certain now that Marcus Smart is back to full health. However, Thomas is a solid and steady option which is always a good to get on your team especially with the other question marks in the PG pool today. ∗∗∗
Deron Williams-Dallas Mavericks (6,200): Williams had 22 points and five assists on Friday against Westbrook and the Thunder to finish with 33.9 fantasy points given him at least 27 fantasy points in five of his last six. He should be able to find success again tonight against the Rockets who are hoping to get Patrick Beverley back, but the team defense is definitely sometimes absent in Houston which should let Williams find space to work. ∗∗
