A look at the match card for the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
Live from the Amway Center on Sunday night, the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view will take place. The is the company’s first big show of the year that kicks things off for WrestleMania season.
As always, the Royal Rumble match will headline the show. Usually, it is to determine the No. 1 Contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. However, Roman Reigns will instead be defending the title against 29 other Superstars in this battle royal. Vince McMahon announced this on the Jan. 4 episode of Raw.
The former Georgia Tech football player will have to overcome the odds like never before. He will enter the match at No. 1 and have to fend off everyone to walk out with the title. He has handled all the challenges placed in front of him well, but could this be too much. With Brock Lesnar and a potentially returning Triple H looming, this may be the case.
Then there is the WWE Intercontinental Championship Last Man Standing Match between Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens. These two have been competing against each other since Nov., but it seems their feud will come to a climax at the Royal Rumble.
Charlotte will also put the WWE Divas Championship on the line against Becky Lynch. Can she pull off another successful title defense?
