Results and highlights from the New Day vs The Usos for the Tag Team Championships at the 2016 WWE Royal Rumble

The New Day and The Usos have been going at it for quite some time in WWE storyline ever since Jimmy and Jey got back into the fold as they were both finally fully healthy. After a triple-threat tag match for New Day’s Tag Team titles at TLC, New Day again put the straps on the line at the 2016 WWE Royal Rumble.

The champs looked to grab the upper hand early at the Royal Rumble, but The Usos seemed like they were more than ready for what Kofi Kingston and Big E had in store for them:

However, the action soon spilled to the outside and the always vocal Xavier Woods tried to get involved and aid his New Day brethren. With the referee’s back turned, he landed a big Tornado DDT on the outside:

Firmly in control, Big E then hit a huge splash in the middle of the ring to further assert their dominance:

The champs then kept the pressure on with some strikes and kicks in the corner:

However, The Usos tried to fight back after sending Kofi flying on the outside and then countering a Big E clothesline into a Samoan Drop:

The challengers kept the pressure on New Day with a bit of an aerial assault:

However, Big E came right back with a huge dive that essentially left everyone in the match laid out on the floor:

Though The Usos tried again to come back by going to the air, it was the power of Big E that reigned supreme as he caught an Uso flying through the air in perfect position for a Big Ending, which he hit:

That gave the New Day the pinfall victory and they will leave the 2016 Royal Rumble still the tag team champs.
