2. Peyton Manning

It’s worth noting that 27 quarterbacks have been named Super Bowl MVP. That’s over half the Most Valuable Player awards. If he has even a halfway decent game and guides the Broncos to a win, good luck convincing people that Manning doesn’t deserve it. He is one of the most respected and well-liked players in the history of the NFL, and the narrative of Manning riding off in the sunset with one last Super Bowl win and Super Bowl MVP might be too strong for anyone to overcome.

Manning will definitely have his work cut out for him against the tenacious Panthers defense. Carolina’s defense prides itself on forcing tons of turnovers, and then converting them into points. Manning will have to put on one of the best performances of his entire career for his Broncos to move the ball against the Panthers’ defense. He’ll have to be the ultimate game manager, and at times a playmaker. If he can limit turnovers and keep the ball moving, it will be hard for anyone to say that Manning isn’t a deserving MVP of Super Bowl 50.

Manning has beaten two of the best quarterbacks in NFL history the past two weeks – Ben Roethlisberger in a divisional playoff game and beat his arch-rival Tom Brady in the AFC Championship. Why not make it three by beating Cam Newton in Super Bowl 50?
