AJ Styles took down a WWE legend in Chris Jericho in the Phenomenal One’s first match on Monday Night RAW
AJ Styles broke the Internet in regards to the wrestling world when news came out that he was leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling for WWE. He then brought the house down on Sunday night at the Royal Rumble when he made his debut as the No. 3 entrant into the Rumble match. On Monday night in Miami, FL, he competed in his first match on WWE Monday Night RAW as he took on Chris Jericho:

Styles and Jericho engaged in plenty of back-and-forth with the legendary Y2J actually getting the upper hand on AJ Styles a number of times, including moving out of the way of a dive to the outside and then taking the Phenomenal One out on the apron:

However, Styles was ultimately able to get his footing in the WWE ring on RAW, hitting some of his hard-hitting, exciting offense:

Styles looked to be in trouble, getting caught in the Walls of Jericho once. After countering a Lionsault, though, AJ went for the Styles Clash, but Jericho reversed it into a roll-up. Styles reversed that into a pin of his own that was good enough for the win.
Thankfully WWE apparently isn’t going to bury one of the best wrestlers on the planet upon his arrival in WWE. However, it’ll be interesting to see what WWE has in store for Styles going forward into Fastlane and into WrestleMania 32. Whatever it is, though, it’ll almost surely be fantastic because AJ Styles is just that damn good when it comes to professional wrestling.
