Stephen Curry grabbed a steal and then sliced through the Spurs in transition for the sweet finish

The Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs faced off for the first time in the 2015-16 NBA season on Monday night in one of the biggest regular season games legitimately in the history of the league. The two Western Conference leaders have both been historically good through the first three months of the season, but started their battle for supremacy on Monday and Stephen Curry had something to say about it early on.

As the two teams were going back-and-forth in the first quarter, Curry picked up a steal and took off in transition. Tony Parker got back to try and offer some resistance, but Curry went behind his back with the ball on his gather step and then split Parker and Danny Green before finishing with a silky finger roll lay-up:

NBA fans almost always go to talking about Curry’s outside shooting when discussing how lethal of a weapon that he is in the NBA—and rightfully so considering what he can do from long range. However, it can’t be forgotten just how ridiculous both his ball-handling and his finishing ability are when he gets around the rim.

It’s almost like he’s the reigning MVP of the league or something.
