Minnesota Timberwolves vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the youngest teams in the NBA. With a 14-31 record through 45 games, the T-Wolves are looking to build some sort of momentum for the future with a team of first and second-year players. Andrew Wiggins, Shabazz Muhammad, Karl-Anthony Towns and Zach LaVine are bright spots for the future, but they have combined to lose 15 out of 18 games.

Sitting in second-to-last place in the Western Conference, the Timberwolves are still inexperienced and going through those growing pains. Wiggins has been solid, though, averaging 20.8 points per game despite his sub-25 percent three-point shooting rate. Towns is having a great rookie season, averaging 15.8 points and 9.7 rebounds and his future is very bright in the league.

Just a few days ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers relieved David Blatt of his head coaching duties, and the rest of the NBA was in shock. Somehow, some way the Cavaliers were going to have to finish the season out strong without a prominent figure at the head coaching position. It’s rare to see a team excel without a great head coach, and that could prove to be true from here on out.

Losing their first game without Blatt on Saturday night, the first-place Cavaliers are looking to rebound against the lowly Timberwolves. LeBron James is someone who this team can trust, especially in times of major adversity. He’s averaging 25 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. Getting Kyrie Irving back will also help matters in Cleveland.
