Kansas Jayhawks guard Wayne Selden Jr. unloaded from deep to give the Jayhawks a nice lead early against Iowa State.

There’s a heavyweight showdown in the Big-12 on Monday night, with the Kansas Jayhawks on the road against the Iowa State Cyclones. Early on in the game, the Jayhawks weathered a hostile environment on the road and hit the big shots they needed to.

Junior guard Wayne Selden Jr. provided the confidence boost in the middle of the first half, when he showed off his range from beyond the arc.

Looking to extend the Jayhawks’ lead over the Cyclones, Selden Jr. unloaded from deep over the Iowa State defense.

Even more beautiful, was the fact that he didn’t rush his shot and he made sure to set his feet before shooting. The Cyclones’ defense gave Selden Jr. enough space to shoot from deep and he made them pay dearly.

The Jayhawks are out to prove that they are one of the best teams in college basketball and should be a contender for the No. 1 spot in the rankings on Monday.

Selden Jr. did his part early on to show what he can do and what his team is capable of doing when their shot selection is on point.
