Clippers forward Blake Griffin issued a statement on Twitter regarding him hitting a team employee and breaking his hand

It’s been just about the worst month imaginable for Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin as he was basically determined to be out indefinitely with a quad injury right after Christmas. However, things got even worse in the past couple of days as he was looking to be close to his return, but this time it was by his own doing as he broke his hand hitting a Clippers equipment manager.

The story of Blake Griffin hitting a Clippers employee has been buzzing around the NBA and rightfully so considering the absurd and equally unacceptable nature of the incident, as well as the fact that Griffin will be out for 4-6 weeks with the broken hand he suffered as a result.

On Tuesday night, though, the All-Star forward took to Twitter to issue a statement on the situation, apologizing for actions that he says he regretted:

That’s about all that Blake can say in this situation—he did something monumentally stupid with a friend/member of the Clippers staff and now he and the team are suffering as a result of that. He should feel sorry and there’s likely going to be a suspension following his recovery time, which is no doubt what the “resolution” he talks about is concerning.

As for the Clippers, they have been staying afloat quite well without Blake since Christmas, but you have to wonder how much longer that can last without arguably their best player on the floor. They’ll certainly find out, though, because Griffin won’t be back for quite some time.
