Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge deleted his Twitter account after a rough loss to the Golden State Warriors

The San Antonio Spurs suffered a rough 120-90 point loss to the Golden State Warriors. The loss could have long-term implications, as Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge deleted his account less than a day after the loss.

Aldridge had a very rough game against the Warriors with just five points and three rebounds while turning the ball over three times in 25 minutes on the court. It was a rare off game for the forward who had the daunting task of replacing Tim Duncan. Duncan missed the game due to a knee injury. It’s quite likely that he saw a number of mean tweets in his mentions. Maybe that caused him to just say “screw it” and delete his account.

Regardless, this could be a good thing for LaMarcus Aldridge. He needs to focus on doing the best he can to help his team succeed. He’s having to adjust to a new system after being “the man” in Portland. He has taken on a completely different role in San Antonio. He’s averaging 15.6 rebounds and 8.7 rebounds per game with the Spurs with a 48.3 percent shooting percentage in 29.4 minutes per game.

He’s fitting in nicely with the Spurs and his new role, but he has no need for distractions. If Twitter’s going to distract him, good on him for getting rid of it.
