An anonymous Missouri teammate said that the video emerging of Maty Mauk snorting is two years old.
This past year was one to forget for Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk. He only appeared in 4 games last season, leading his team to a 3-1 start, but was suspended for violating team rules. After the Tigers went 5-7 and were bowl ineligible, a shocking video emerged that went viral and put Maty Mauk’s status in question:
It’s hard to interpret it any other way and led to Mauk’s indefinite suspension with the Missouri football program.

However, one of Mauk’s teammates has spoken out in his defense, telling the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the video is two years old and that he’s since addressed his drug problem. He went on to say that Mauk has been “really turning things around and has been clean for a while.” If that’s the case, his indefinite suspension should be turned over as he shouldn’t be punished for something that happened two years ago. However, the fact that he still did it during his time with Missouri should still incur some sort of disciplinary action.
After feeling like he let his teammates down last season, Mauk will want to go back out and prove his detractors wrong.
Whether he’ll get that chance remains to be seen.
