New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wrote a heartfelt thank-you note to the fans that supported the team all season.
The New England Patriots lost in the AFC Championship Game on the road against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, and their bid to defend their Super Bowl came to an end. Although falling just short is always tough in the NFL for a defending champion, it was another great year for the Patriots.
Quarterback Tom Brady was as sharp as ever and he along with the Patriots continued to remain a force in the AFC. After all the support that the Patriots were given by their fans, Brady decided to pen a letter to thank the fans for their support all season.
The letter, transcribed by ForTheWin, details Brady’s heartfelt sincerity toward the fans that have always stood by his side and the team’s side.
"Thank you to all of our fans for the incredible support you gave us this season. I’m proud to call New England my home and to have the privilege of playing for your team.Our team fought hard all year, right down to the final play. I’m proud of the effort we all put in to prepare each game as if it were our last. We never quit nor lost sight of what we were playing for. It’s rare to have the honor of being on a team like that.It takes a lot of hard work and commitment to get as far as we did. It was certainly quite the year for the Patriots. After an off-season of turmoil with the league over DeflateGate, fans were inspired more than ever to support their team as they looked to make a Super Bowl run.
Although they didn’t get to where they wanted to end up, Brady knows they will only get better from an experience like this season. It was a gracious gesture by Brady.
