DeMarcus Cousins left Omer Asik in the dust with a spin-move before finishing a Rajon Rondo lob

Fresh off finding out that he will be competing in his second consecutive NBA All-Star Game as a member of the Western Conference reserves, Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins was looking to prove that he was worth the nod against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night. If what he did to Omer Asik in the first half was any indication, he was doing a fantastic job of proving that point.

Boogie was backed up on Omer Asik outside of the paint with Rajon Rondo handling the ball at the top of the key. Cousins obviously felt the Pelicans center leaning on him a little bit too heavily because Boogie uncorked a nasty spin-move toward the rim that left Asik wondering where his man went. Rondo then tossed up a gorgeous lob that Cousins threw down with ease:

DeMarcus Cousins is unquestionably one of the most talented big men and players in the NBA right now. As if his stats or how terrible the Kings are without him on the floor weren’t evidence of how great Boogie is, moves like this where he makes opposing players just look silly for trying to stick with him defensively do a pretty good job of making sure that’s common knowledge.
