Knicks guard Langston Galloway made an incredible diving save to keep a ball in play
The New York Knicks had a chance on Thursday night against the Toronto Raptors to really make a statement in the Eastern Conference as the NBA All-Star break approaches. With the Raps at the No. 2 spot in the East, a win in the Air Canada Centre would put the Knicks in the conversation of teams to watch down the stretch. Reserve guard Langston Galloway was more than willing to put his body on the line to try and make that happen.
In the third quarter with the Knicks trying to keep the deficit to the Raptors manageable, the ball got poked away and started heading toward the sideline. That’s when Galloway went charging after it, dove to the floor, and then made an incredible play to turn and flick the ball into the air to his teammate to keep the ball and the possession alive:
Normally making a save on a ball going out of bounds would just be admirable because of the effort given by whatever player made the save, but this is a legitimately impressive play. How Galloway managed to turn and get the ball out of his touch before he slid over the sideline is a mystery that I’ve yet to figure out. All I do know is that making plays like that is a good way for Langston Galloway to stay in Derek Fisher’s good graces and stay on the floor for the Knicks to try and compete.
