NBA All-Star Game 2016: 5 biggest snubs
1. Pau Gasol – Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls have been one of the more difficult teams in the entire NBA to predict or know what to expect from on a game-to-game basis. However, one of the most consistent forces in the NBA this season has been Bulls center Pau Gasol. Despite the fact that he’s getting closer to the end of his career in the NBA at 35 years old, Pau has been absolutely tearing it up whenever he’s been on the floor.
Gasol has played in 42 games this season for Chicago and has produced in a major way in those outings. The big veteran has put up 16.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.1 blocks in 31.7 minutes per game. Unfortunately for Gasol, his efficiency as a scorer hasn’t been quite at the level as it has been in years past over the course of his career. Even still, you can’t deny what he’s been able to do in the Chicago frontcourt this season.
The frontcourt in the East has a ton of talent in it and it’s hard to say that a player like an Andre Drummond in the reserves isn’t more deserving than Pau. However, Gasol has undoubtedly played like an All-Star caliber big man and that he’s not recognized as such is quite disappointing.
