Andre Drummond destroys J.R. Smith’s shot (Video)
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond destroyed Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith’s shot with a monster block.
Andre Drummond is getting ready to go to the very first NBA All-Star Game of his career and it comes mainly because of his defense in the interior paint. With the Cleveland Cavaliers in town to take on the Pistons, Drummond was fired up to anchor his team defensively against the top team in the Eastern Conference.
Early on against the Cavaliers, Drummond made his presence felt and established his authority in the paint. As Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith worked his way near the block for a shot, Smith decided to challenge Drummond and shoot as he always does an ill-advised shot.
Drummond took the basketball and ate it up en route to a monster block against Smith.
Drummond blocked the shot so hard that he spiked it right into the Cavaliers’ bench, which sent a message to everyone sitting there, just what would happen if they come into the game and try to challenge him.
The Pistons are having a resurgent season and are aiming to show that they can compete with the best in the NBA. With players like Drummond manning the middle, it’s hard not to.
