The NBA starts later tonight, but there is still a full nine-game slate for my FanDuel daily picks for tonight’s DFS fantasy basketball.

The NBA closes out the week and starts up the weekend with a nine-game schedule on this Friday, January 29. The 18 teams in action tonight should provide plenty of drama and storylines, and they also give us plenty of options for DFS Fantasy basketball. You can find the players I like the most on the following slides in my FanDuel daily picks.

More from Detroit Pistons

We get an extra 30 minutes to set our lineups for tonight since the first games don’t get started until 7:30 PM ET when there are three games tipping off all  hosted by Eastern Conference teams.  The Knicks host the Suns, the Pistons welcome in King James and the Cavs, and the Celtics take on the Magic in Boston.  At 8:00, two more games get started as the Bucks host the Heat and Kevin Durant and the Thunder take on former-teammate James Harden and the Rockets.  Another Texas team starts at 8:30 when the Mavericks take on the Nets followed at 9:00 by the Jazz and T-Wolves in Utah.  At 10:00, the attention shifts to the West Coast where the Blazers host the Hornets followed by the Clippers and Lakers meeting in an all-LA clash at 10:30 in the last game of the night.

Those 18 teams give us plenty of sleepers and stars to pick from for our fantasy lineups tonight. To see who I like the most, check out my FanDuel daily picks on the following slides. You’ll find two slides per position–one for high-salary options and one for high-value options. Each slide contains at least two selections with extras thrown in where possible.  I base each pick on the current form of each player and the positional matchups each player will face in tonight’s game.

This month, I also have started to rank my picks using stars after each selection. For a full explanation of the rating system, check out the last slide of this post, but in short, more stars means less risk. On the final slide of the post, you can see my results for the month of January at each level of confidence. Also on the final slide of the post, you can see how I’m putting together the best of my picks into my lineup for today’s contests.

In this post, all salary references and references to “fantasy points” refer to FanDuel pricing and scoring.  If you are looking for similar coverage specifically for DraftKings, check the box above for related posts or find the latest on our fantasy basketball hub.

If you have any questions about my picks for today or any of our Fansided fantasy coverage, you can leave them at the bottom of the page in the comments section.  For an even quicker response, you can find me throughout the day on Twitter @FansidedFantasy. I am getting home from my West coast trip early this morning, so I should be available on Twitter throughout the day and be able to keep up with all your questions and injury updates leading up to tipoff at 7:30 tonight.
