With the Charlotte Hornets out on a Western Conference road trip, rookie Frank Kaminsky stopped at a Portland area Starbucks on Friday morning to get a quick pick-me-up before getting ready for the Hornets game with the Trail Blazers on Friday night. While Kaminsky isn’t an NBA superstar, he was a college star last season and a lottery pick, meaning it wouldn’t be crazy to think that in a basketball crazy place like Portland he would be recognized by an NBA fan. That didn’t happen at Starbucks.

While it can be tough to hear at times inside a Starbucks, especially one that is crowed during the morning rush, that isn’t even close. Really it feels like whoever took Frank’s order was trying to send some type of message to him or something. It also kind of looks like they wrong Crang, like the old villain from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons that was a living brain inside of a giant robot (which was spelled Krang).
Only the person who wrote the name knows for sure what happened but it feels safe to say that Kaminsky was humbled a bit. This definitely doesn’t happen to Stephen Curry or Damian Lillard anywhere they go. Maybe one day Kaminsky will get there but not yet.
