Los Angeles Lakers vs Los Angeles Clippers

It hasn’t been the best season for Kobe Bryant and his beloved Los Angeles Lakers. Playing his entire career for one organization has to be a great feeling, but going out this way will probably put a sour taste in the former MVP’s mouth. The Lakers are dead-last in the Western Conference as one of only two teams in the NBA with less than 10 wins.

Bryant still leads the team in scoring, however, as he is averaging 15.8 points and 3.5 assists per game. Lou Williams isn’t too far behind with 15.5 points per game and the young guys on the squad have the potential to build this franchise back to where it used to be. The Lakers have a long way to go in that regard, though.

The Clippers, on the other hand, own the city of Los Angeles these days and are one of the top teams in the entire NBA. The Clippers are 10-16 and just three games out of third place in the West. Lob City got a big break this summer when DeAndre Jordan agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks but changed his mind to come back to the Clippers.

Jordan has been a monster for the Clippers, outside of free-throw shooting, and he’s averaging 11.9 points and 13.6 rebounds as well as 2.2 blocks per game. Blake Griffin has been out for about a month and will be absent even longer after breaking his hand in an alleged altercation with an equipment staffer. Chris Paul is left to carry the load and lead the team.
